A wedding invitation is a letter asking the recipient to attend a wedding. It is typically written in formal, third-person language and mailed five to eight weeks before the wedding date. Like any other invitation, it is the privilege and duty of the host—historically, for younger brides in Western culture, the mother of the bride, on behalf of the bride's family—to issue invitations, either by sending them herself or causing them to be sent, either by enlisting the help of relatives, friends, or her social secretary to select the guest list and address envelopes, or by hiring a service. Look at it this way, it will be something for your Portfolio, which will be a motivation for you to produce something really good. If you must charge something, I use to charge in Trade such as, "I'll design this for you if you buy me lunch or take me to a movie, etc." And if its a monetary value, I use to evaluate my skill level and charge off that basis. $5, $10,etc. Definitely do not charge by hour if your skill level is not high enough but if you do make sure its something reasonable to your skill level.
